History of Tiara Eyewear: Queen For A Day Trunk Shows

Tiaras also known as diadems have been around for centuries. No one really seems to know who created them, but forms of tiaras have been found by ancient Greeks. Crowns of leafs (Caesar) gold or silver. Made for royalty they encircled the head. Some jewelers credit the Egyptians for the first tiaras. Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) greatly influenced tiaras, it was his way of showing off his family’s affluence and nobility. Which of course made the tiara a must at all social functions. Tiaras were the hot thing in the 1800s and the beginning of World War I (1917-1920).
Apparently Tiara and thus Tiara Eyewear has made somewhat of a comeback.. You see Tiaras not only on royalty, in beauty pageants, proms, brides, birthdays.. any occasion that a woman wants to feel like a Queen For A Day.
Did you know there is a Queen Day celebrated every year in The Netherlands? April 30th. Last year, a Disney Inspiration National Princess Week was introduced, with spokesperson Julie Andrews.
